Oil Painting

Fruit & Vegetable Still Lifes

I began painting in oils in the late 60s, but it wasn't until the early 70s that I started stretching large six and seven foot canvases.
This first large painting, six by six feet, came from the encouragment of Judy Chicago when I was studying with her and Miriam Schapiro in the Feminist Art Program at Cal Arts. For more on "bursting out" see the recent Moxie Magazine article.
Cabbages, leeks and other assorted fruit and vegetable paintings will be added soon.
