Day 5, Thursday, October 29: Night fall came quickly. We'd only hiked about one mile in nearly five hours. Snug in the tent, very wet and cold, we carefully turned on the stove and heated the snow for a hot drink. We had a cup of hot cocoa, then Good Earth tea and went to sleep. Our top clothes, sweater and shirt were dry, but our pants and socks were soaked. We each took all our wet clothes off leaving cold bare legs against wet sleeping bags. We slept off and on all night not knowing how much snow was falling or what to expect the next day. go to wind
