Day 1, Sunday afternoon, October 25: Within the last mile to the lakes the weather started looking ominous, a few drops of rain changed to a drizzle and just as we hit the lake it turned to hail. Not golf ball size, but big enough that they hurt your face. We pitched the tent quickly, under some trees. I'd tried the tent out the day before, so I knew just what to do. We got in as quickly as possible and took off our wet clothes. When the rain let up a bit, I put the stove outside the tent door and made some hot dinner. go to earth
